This virtual job fair will put you in touch with area employers

Wednesday, those who are searching for a job will get a chance to e-meet with employers from the area. Goodwill Houston will hold its monthly virtual job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it will includes employers from Houston Independent School District, Effex Management Solutions and Goodwill Houston. Goodwill Houston will also host its second Virtual Health Fair on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Barbie Parker, vice president of Fund Development & Community Relations with Goodwill Houston, explained their new procedures in place. Meet an inspiring veteran helping fellow veterans with barriers to employment

HOUSTON - For many of our military veterans, finding civilian jobs after serving our country can be a challenge, but one local man is helping his fellow veterans with this task through Operation: GoodJobs, a program Goodwill started to assist post-9/11 veterans and their families with job training, financial strengthening and placement services. HOUSTON - Oziel Casanova lost his leg after a motorcycle accident. And while this major change could have derailed his entire life, he chose to take a professional opportunity that has him inspiring others every day. Casanova is now working at Goodwill as an instructor with the Google Digital Accelerator program, and he visited the Houston Life studio to share his story, along with his employer Barbie Parker, director of fund development with Goodwill Houston.
