Alvin HS football coach resigns after players say he used n-word, racial slurs before game
HOUSTON โ An Alvin High School football coach resigned Thursday after players said he used the n-word and other racial slurs before a game. Just hours before last Friday nightโs football game, two Alvin High School football players said a coach used derogatory terms they wonโt soon forget. โI told him that wasnโt cool and then he told me, โDo I want to play?โ I just start walking away. A spokeswoman for the Alvin Independent School District said the school district has launched an investigation and a staff member has been placed on administrative leave, though the district did not name the employee. They work hard and they go to practice every day and for him to downgrade them like that itโs just horrible,โ said April Bell, the players' mother.

Girl soccer star takes kicking talents to football field
ALVIN, Texas โ An Alvin High School student is getting a lot of attention for bringing her soccer talents to the football field. Erin Webster was the kicker for Alvin's varsity football team in the Yellowjackets' 50-14 win over Pasadena on Friday. Webster tore her ACL in May and recently recovered from surgery. Webster is a standout on the soccer field. She is a three-time varsity Letterman and has received multiple scholarship offers.
