HOUSTON – The Houston Astros have locked in World Series MVP George Springer for two years, according to the team.
Springer signed a two-year deal to avoid arbitration that will pay him $12 million per season.

The 28-year-old outfielder is coming off an All-Star season and earned a Silver Slugger award.
In his four-year career, Springer has a slash line of .266/.359/.468 with 99 home runs in 482 games.
He batted .379 with five home runs and 7 runs batted in to win MVP and lead Houston to its first-ever World Series title.
Springer recently married Charlise Castro.
Pitchers and catchers report to Astros Spring Training on Feb. 14. The first full squad workout is Feb. 19.
