A new game week is here and the Texans are stumbling into Indy 0-2 for the third time in the last four seasons.

Last year they were a dismal 0-3 before they woke up and finished with 12 wins but finished 2nd to AFC South champion Jacksonville.
This Sunday it not a “must win” but with Dallas ahead next week the Texans need to come out and play with passion against the Colts. Starting off 0-3 again is not a road they want to revisit.
TEXANS KEYS TO A WIN
1) That starts with the offense and QB C.J. Stroud stepping up and leading. He threw it 50+ times against the Bengals and that is way too much. Good news is no interceptions so far. Nico Collins will be out again and that puts more pressure on Stroud and the WR group.
2) The Run game has to produce at a high level for this offense to click. It’s time for David Montgomery and Woody Marks to shine against a Colts defense that has yet to show they can tackle well. Pro Football Focus reports they have 28 missed tackles which is second most in the NFL. Montgomery was held to 10 yards on six carries by Cincinnati.
D-Mo and Marks combined for only 18 yards on 14 carries Sunday vs. the Bengals. The Colt defense has had its moments, but Indy currently sits last in yards allowed in the NFL in losses to the Ravens and Chiefs.
3) Can the Texans defense turn back the clock to last season when they were ranked number one? They have the pieces in place and now need to get to work on Sunday. So far in two losses the “D” is giving up 28 PPG which puts Houston 26th in the NFL.
With the Colts without WR’s Alec Pierce, who owned the Texans last year in two games, and Ashton Dulin the Texans deep unit can go to Indy and take care of business if they can pressure Daniel Jones and slow down RB Jonathan Taylor who has performed well historically against Houston during his career . Don’t get me wrong though because Indy has legitimate backup options as well in the receiving group plus tight end Tyler Warren that Jones will look to.
It’s a 12 p.m. kickoff Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
