Houston man killed when truck rolls over him during attempted repair

HOUSTON – A man died after a truck rolled backward onto him while he was helping repair the vehicle at a Houston home Friday night.

According to HPD Sgt. Garcia, the incident appears to be an accidental death.

Investigators learned the truck had developed mechanical problems while its driver was heading home. After arriving at the home on Long Point Road in Spring Branch around 9:58 p.m., the driver’s brother tried to repair it.

The truck could not be placed in park and rolled backward onto the man. Houston Fire Department crews provided lifesaving treatment at the scene before he was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

No charges are expected at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
