GOLF: The Woodlands native, Stacy Lewis, is playing her final tournament while pregnant with her second child

Lewis’ husband and Texas A&M Women’s Golf Head Coach, Gerrod Chadwell, will be her caddie for the Chevron Championship.

Memorial Park Golf Course – The Houston golf community will have an opportunity to see a local LPGA Tour Pro play in her final tournament this weekend. The Woodlands native, Stacy Lewis, will compete in The Chevron Championship at Memorial Park Golf Course before retiring.

It’s going to be a family affair on the golf course in more ways than one. Stacy is competing while pregnant with her second child, and her husband Gerrod Chadwell, who’s also the Texas A&M Women’s Golf Head Coach, will be her caddie this weekend.

“It just felt like the perfect place to come back one more time and call it good, but I will say the last several weeks of trying to get ready to play again just kind of affirmed my decision to retire, and so I’m looking forward to getting through this week and then going back to normal life,” said Lewis. “I didn’t know what I was gonna do in retirement, but I guess I know what I’m gonna do now. But I’m looking forward to the next few years of raising a kid at home and not cleaning bottles in hotel rooms and trying to travel every week, so looking forward to that.”

Understandably, a lot of people would think that playing a tournament while expecting a child is a little scary, but for Lewis, she kind of sees it as an advantage.

“It’s actually very nice because with the hormones and everything, your body gets looser and so my body has hurt a lot less, which has been enjoyable, and for me, my golf swing is flatter, so that has helped my golf swing as well,” said Lewis. “My old caddie, Travis, is like, ‘yeah, you play good when you were pregnant,’ so who knows what will happen this week.”

Lewis will tee off on Thursday in the opening round of the 2026 Chevron Championship at 1:03 p.m.
