Woman charged in League City crash that killed 8-year-old girl released on bond

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A woman was arrested and then released after posting bond Thursday in connection with a crash two weeks ago in League City that led to the death of an 8-year-old girl, police said.

Kelsey Nalepa was injured in the April 6 crash on West Main Street. She died two days later.

According to police, Kelsey was the passenger in one of three vehicles involved in the crash.

Police said they arrested Erika Diebel, 41, in connection with the crash. They said an investigation found that Diebel was likely intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Diebel was charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Her bond was set at $100,000, which she posted, according to reports.

She was released on bond around 9 p.m. Thursday.
