One man dead, another injured after shootout in NW Houston

HOUSTON – A man is dead and another injured after a shootout in front of a home in northwest Houston. 

According to police, the incident between the homeowner and several other unknown people happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday in the driveway of a home near Citadel and W. 43rd.

The victim and the others shot at each other several times for unknown reasons before the others fled the scene, police said.

When authorities arrived, they found the wounded homeowner lying in the street in critical condition and transported him to a hospital where he later died, police said.

A few minutes later, officers were called to Milwee near Bolin where a man suffering gunshot wounds had been found.

Officers said the man, believed to be one of the people involved in the shooting, drove himself to the area and knocked on someone’s door asking for help.

According to police, he had been shot three times and was transported to a hospital in serious condition. However, he is expected to survive.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
