Man charged after military-grade explosives found in vehicle in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A man was arrested and charged after several explosives, including a military-grade explosive, were found in his vehicle Saturday, Montgomery County deputies said.

Jason Lee Warner, 32, was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of explosive components and possession of Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Timber Lakes subdivision in South Montgomery County. During the investigation, deputies found what they believed to be explosives and Lee was taken into custody. Deputies isolated the vehicle and the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad was called to the scene to investigate.

Bomb techs recovered the IED, an intact grenade, military-grade explosives and several other components that could be used to make additional devices.

Lee was arrested and charged.
