Friendswood school teacher arrested on child sexual abuse charge

Police said the warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual abuse that reportedly occurred between 2020 and 2026

Police said the warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual abuse that reportedly occurred between 2020 and 2026 while Stott was employed at The Galloway School, located at 3200 W. Bay Area Blvd. in Friendswood.

According to police, Stott held several positions at the school during that time, including:

  • Physical education teacher
  • Substitute teacher
  • Second-grade teacher
  • Soccer club coach

Because of Stott’s former position as an educator and his access to children, investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward, police said.

Parents and guardians whose children may have had contact with Stott are encouraged to speak with them. Anyone whose child discloses information or anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the Friendswood Police Department at 281-996-3300.

Police said the investigation remains active and that they are focused on protecting the safety, privacy and well-being of children and families.

Following his arrest, Stott was transported to the Harris County Jail, where he is being processed. Police said he is currently being held with no bond.

Because the investigation is ongoing, police said they will not release additional information at this time that could compromise the investigation or the privacy of potential victims.
