Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle in southwest Houston parking lot

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot Friday morning in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The incident was reported around 11 a.m. in the 9800 block of South Kirkwood Road.

Police said the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where they later died.

Authorities say the driver did remain at the scene and cooperated with police.
