CLEVELAND, Texas – Cleveland ISD confirms an employee at Cleveland Ninth Grade Center has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student.
According to the district, they became aware of the allegation and referred the matter to the Cleveland ISD Police Department.

District officials said the employee is no longer on campus or in contact with students. Cleveland ISD stated that established safety protocols remain in place to help ensure a secure learning environment for students and staff.
“Student safety remains our highest priority,” Superintendent Dr. Glenn Barnes said in a statement. “The district acted immediately upon receiving this information and continues to fully cooperate with law enforcement and all appropriate authorities.”
The district said it is limited in the amount of information that can be publicly released at this time, citing privacy laws
The district is also encouraging parents and guardians to maintain open, age-appropriate conversations with their children and to report any concerns to campus administration or district officials.
No additional details about the employee or the investigation have been released.
