The aircraft was carrying 143 passengers and five crew members.

United confirmed that passengers deplaned normally after landing safely in Monterrey. The airline said a replacement aircraft has been arranged to bring customers to Houston.

“Passengers deplaned normally and we have arranged for a different aircraft to take customers to Houston,” a spokesperson said in a statement to KPRC 2.

Flight tracking data showed the aircraft declared an emergency before diverting.

No injuries were reported. United has not released additional details about the nature of the mechanical problem.
