Pedestrian killed after being hit by train in NE Houston

A deadly train incident is under investigation after a pedestrian was struck Sunday evening in northeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department Command Center, the call came in at approximately 6:15 p.m. reporting that a train had hit a person near the 9900 block of Hirsch Road.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, which was classified as a major crash involving a fatality.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

Details about the circumstances leading up to the collision — including whether the pedestrian was on or near the tracks at the time — have not yet been confirmed.
