2 people rescued from vehicles after 5-vehicle crash on Tomball Parkway

Tomball Parkway reopened Wednesday morning after a 5-vehicle crash, causing two people to be extracted from their vehicles.

According to Mark Herman with the Harris County Precinct 4 Deputies Office, the crash happened at Tomball Parkway near North Gessner Road around 6 a.m.

Herman said two people were trapped inside vehicles following the crash. Emergency crews worked for hours to free those two people, who had to be transported to the hospital. They are expected to survive.

According to deputies, a vehicle was traveling northbound and crossed into the southbound lanes, which led to a chain-reaction crash. Two vehicles were significantly damaged.

Around 8 a.m., deputies said all lanes on Tomball Parkway reopened, and traffic resumed as normal.
