Montgomery County detectives find missing minor, arrest 2 women for child trafficking

Detectives trace online ads to solve missing juvenile case

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Division VICE Unit recovered a missing juvenile and arrested two Houston women on child trafficking charges following an investigation on March 9.

According to authorities, detectives working the missing juvenile case discovered online advertisements on illicit prostitution-related websites that depicted the minor alongside an unidentified adult female.

Investigators contacted those involved and arranged a meeting at a local hotel in Montgomery County.

With assistance from Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents, deputies located the suspects’ vehicle and found two adult females and the missing minor inside. The two women were later identified as 20-year-old Norma Lewis and 20-year-old Niasia Harrell, both of Houston.

Lewis and Harrell were arrested and charged with trafficking of a child, a first-degree felony. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

The sheriff’s office said the minor was safely recovered, received medical care and support services, and was released to parents.
