Person transported to hospital by helicopter after 18-wheeler crash on SH 36 in Needville

A crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler shut down part of State Highway 36 near Dannhaus Road in Needville on Thursday. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said one person was seriously injured and flown to the hospital.

Deputies said the crash happened on the northbound lanes of SH 36 and involved a passenger car and an 18-wheeler. All northbound traffic is being diverted while investigators clear the scene.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes to prevent delays.
