Johnson, who had served with the Sheriff’s Office for nearly two years, was immediately terminated following the indictment. His bail was set at $75,000, and he has since bonded out.

The Sheriff’s Office says the allegation stems from off-duty conduct. The case was investigated by both the Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs section and the District Attorney’s Office.

The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement has also been notified of Johnson’s arrest.

“We hold our employees to the highest standards, and this alleged misconduct is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Eric Fagan said in a statement. “We serve with integrity and pursue justice without exception.”

His court date has been set for Sept. 29.
