I-45 overnight lane closures planned Sunday for CenterPoint Energy work

CenterPoint Energy will close all lanes of I-45 between Tellepsen Street and Cullen Boulevard overnight Sunday for transmission line work.

Crews will be clearing transmission lines over the freeway as part of an upgrade to improve electric reliability and capacity. The project transitions the system from 69kV to 138kV to better support current and future energy needs.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays. Authorities ask motorists to follow posted signs and instructions from traffic personnel. CenterPoint Energy thanked the community for their patience as the work is completed.
