Around 9:15 p.m., sheriff’s deputies said they got a call about a disturbance between a man and a woman at the Derby at Steeple Chase apartment on West Road, and about five minutes later, they were called again for reports of a shooting.
Responding officers there found Javion Williams, 22, with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Several witnesses were detained, and a woman, later identified as Derricka Ross, 24, believed to be his killer, was arrested. Investigators said they recovered a weapon, but it’s unclear if it was used in the man’s murder.
