Major FM 1463 closure to cause weekend delays in Fort Bend

Drivers traveling through Fort Bend County this weekend should plan for detours as FM 1463 closes in both directions for roadwork.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 2, and continue through 5 a.m. Monday, May 5. Both northbound and southbound lanes will be shut down between Fry Road and FM 1093.

During the closure, southbound drivers will be detoured onto South Fry Road, then to Spring Green Boulevard, and back to FM 1093. Northbound traffic will be rerouted onto FM 1093, then to Spring Green Boulevard, South Fry Road, and back to FM 1463.

Law enforcement officers will be on site to help manage traffic flow throughout the weekend. TxDOT is asking drivers to use caution, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra time for travel.
