Harris County deputy constable accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in merchandise from grocery store

A Harris County deputy constable was arrested, accused of stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a grocery store where he worked as a security guard over the span of several months.

Perry Dee Wesley, 53, was charged with a theft by a public servant of merchandise worth between $750 and $2,500, a felony.

According to court documents, the thefts occurred between Oct. 19 and Dec. 30 of 2024 at a Walmart store. Wesley allegedly stole a plethora of items, including a faucet handle, a jump starter, a multi-cooker and 24 cans of canned meat.

Wesley worked with the Harris County Pct. 7 Constable’s Office. His motion for bail document stated that he “used and abused his badge to execute his crimes.”

Wesley was given a $5,000 bond and made bail.
