CROSBY, Texas – Authorities across multiple departments are investigating a possible drowning in the San Jacinto River.
The area of interest is between Beaumont Highway and US 90. Authorities say a father and daughter were swimming when they both went missing while visiting Xtreme Off Road Park and Beach.
As of Monday morning, the female swimmer’s body was recovered. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez took to X, formerly known as Twitter, identifying the young girl as 14 years old.

Hours later, authorities found a man’s body, believed to be the teenage girl’s father, was found a couple of hours later. Their identities have not been shared, as of this writing.

The search was first announced by the Crosby Volunteer Fire Department.
