Galveston Co. deputy facing sexual assault of child charge stemming from 1993 allegations

GALVESTON COUNTY – A Galveston County deputy was arrested Monday on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge from an incident over 30 years ago, according to officials.

La Marque Police Lieutenant Forrest Gandy said Kenneth Wayne Hogan turned himself in to the Galveston Sheriff’s Department after a warrant was issued.

Lieutenant Gandy said the alleged assaults happened in La Marque between 1993 and 1997, and they began when the alleged victim was eight years old.

He said the victim, who is now in her 30′s, came forward in late 2023.

Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset said Deputy Hogan was released on bond after appearing before magistrate court on the day of his arrest.

Court records show that his bond was $40,000.

According to Sheriff Trochesset, Deputy Hogan is currently on administrative leave, and if he is indicted, he will be terminated.

He said Hogan has been with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department since 2006.
