In a digital era where social media is a vital part of our daily lives, the sudden outage of Facebook and Instagram sent shockwaves to many users (including ALL OF US at KPRC 2.)
According to Downdetector, a website that gives a real-time overview of issues and outages across the internet, said that reports about the social media sites started coming in at about 9:08 a.m.
KPRC 2 viewers also called into the station, asking if we’ve been hacked. Rest assured, the issue was not on our end.
It is unclear why the outages occurred to begin with but many compared Tuesday’s issues to the recent AT&T outages which impacted thousands of users.
