Police said a jeweler had met someone in the parking lot at the location to sell jewelry. However, police said the victim believes it was a set up as two men jumped him and beat him.

Police said the victim resisted and the suspects shot him. The victim continued to resist even after being shot and the suspects shot him more times. The suspects then got into the victim’s pockets, robbing him before fleeing the scene.

Authorities said the victim possibly fired back at the suspects with his own weapon. It is possible one of the suspects was hit, but it is not known for sure at this time. Police are checking nearby hospitals to see if anyone comes in with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a hospital. He is said to be in critical, but stable condition.
