2 dead, 1 in critical condition after head-on crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Two people died, and a third person is in critical condition after two sedans crashed head-on on Friday in Montgomery County.

The Caney Creek Fire Department and local EMS were called to a crash on FM 1314 near Crighton Road in Conroe at about 6:15 p.m.

A Kia Forte had been going south on FM 1314, and it moved into the northbound lanes for an unknown reason and collided with a 2024 Honda Civic.

During the crash, the Kia caught on fire, and firefighters were later able to contain the blaze. A man and woman were also rescued from the vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The woman went into cardiac arrest, and paramedics tried to save her, but she later also died.

A woman was in the Honda Civic, and she was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The victims have not been identified yet.

FM 1314 was closed near the crash, and it has since been reopened.

An autopsy will also be conducted on the two victims. This case is still under investigation, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident.
