And like a superhero, Josh Eubank, the founder of Seniors In Need Handyman Service, has taken it upon himself to provide 100% free handyman services to seniors who cannot afford or physically manage these repairs.

Recognizing the financial and physical limitations faced by many seniors, Eubank embarked on a mission to offer assistance where it is needed the most. Together with the support of Isa Hakem, also known as the Lemonade Guy, and a team of dedicated individuals, Eubank has undertaken various tasks including drywall repairs, painting, appliance repair, and even replacement.

Eubank’s journey began when he and his friend noticed the dire circumstances of local seniors during a freezing winter. They offered their assistance in insulating pipes for those who were unable to do so themselves.

Witnessing the gratitude and the profound impact their help had on the seniors, Eubank realized the pressing need for ongoing support. This realization prompted him to establish Seniors In Need Handyman Service, providing a lifeline to seniors who require essential home repairs.

Joania, a senior who has benefited from the program, said after her husband passed away, she’s been living on a fixed income and depending solely on Social Security checks. But, thanks to Eubank and his team, Joanie’s garage, which was once riddled with damaged walls, missing drywall and peeling paint has now been restored at no cost.

The impact of the Seniors In Need Handyman Service has not gone unnoticed by the community.

Justin Smith, the General Manager of Higginbotham Brothers Hardware, was moved by Eubank’s commitment to helping others. Smith and the hardware store decided to lend their support by collecting donations from customers and providing supplies at cost.

Despite their efforts, Eubank says there are still some things that are beyond his expertise. He said that finding someone with knowledge of sewer repairs is crucial to continue helping the seniors in need.

The heartwarming story of Eubank and the Seniors In Need Handyman Service serves as a profound reminder of the power of community and compassion. Donate in person at Higginbotham Brothers Hardware or through the Seniors In Need Handyman Service Facebook page.
