The TEA announced its intention to take over the Houston Independent School District as of June 1st. (KPRC)

HOUSTON – On Tuesday, the Houston Independent School District announced that it will add up to 40 additional failing schools to its New Education System model for the 2024-2025 academic school year.

The announcement comes after the district released its 2022-2023 annual school ratings, which showed 58 campuses with F ratings and 65 with D ratings.

So, with the constant changes going on in the district, we’re hosting this conversation on Click2Houston.com, and we want to hear your thoughts about the NES model, Superintendent Mike Miles, and the ongoing changes in the district.
