Good Samaritan rescues driver from burning car after crash in Memorial Heights

HOUSTON – A good Samaritan stepped in to rescue a driver from a burning car following a crash in Memorial Heights on Tuesday.

First responders were called out to the crash at 11 p.m. in the 600 block of Memorial Heights Drive.

Investigators on scene said it appeared a man crashed his vehicle into two parked cars, then his vehicle caught on fire.

The good Samaritan, Harjab Singh, said that he was watching television when he heard what sounded like an explosion.

“I got out here as fast as I could,” Singh said. “I opened the front door. I got my brother’s help, and his legs were stuck so we were tugging and tugging and just pulled him out.”

The driver was taken to a local hospital, but his condition is unknown. KPRC 2 is working to get updates from investigators on what might have led to the crash.
