Man dead, suspect detained after telling deputies he shot his brother in Porter

PORTER, Texas – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been detained after authorities say he allegedly shot and killed his brother in the Porter area Tuesday.

Authorities say it happened in the 20700 block of Kenswick Park Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, they received a call just before 8 a.m. from a man who stated he had just shot his brother.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the victim. They attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.

The suspect was detained. Authorities say there is no threat to the public.

Details remain limited as the sheriff’s office says it is still early in the investigation. Major crime detectives are investigating.
