KPRC 2 has obtained doorbell video of the children walking around seeking help but will not be broadcasting it due to its sensitive and graphic nature.

What happened

The situation happened in the 5100 block of Enyart Street at around 1:30 a.m. early Friday morning.

Assistant Chief M. Martin with the Houston Police Department told KPRC 2′s Brittany Jeffers that they were called to the scene after being made aware of a girl, 10, and a boy, 4, were running around with signs of blunt-force trauma.

Police said the children went to a neighbor’s home asking for help and to report a shooting

Officers said the 10-year-old girl told police that her father had shot their mother.

Police then searched the home and found a 2-year-old boy suffering from serious injuries.

As their search continued, officers said they later found a bedroom in the back of the home where a woman, 33, had been shot and killed.

The children were all taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Police said the two younger children suffered fractures to their faces and heads.

Once Lee was questioned, he was subsequently charged and taken to a local hospital to be treated for a medical condition. Once he is released, he will be transported to the Harris County Jail.

A neighbor who reported hearing the gunshots said the victim and Lee had been arguing for the past few weeks. Detectives were told the woman was either married to or was the suspect’s common-law wife, and that the suspect is the father of their three children

Chief Martin said that there was also a previous domestic disturbance call to that home.
