Man dies after being shot by police officers in Missouri City, officials say

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – A man was shot and killed by police officers at a gas station in Missouri City Sunday, according to police.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven gas station in the 11500 block of Highway 6 at around 7:45 p.m.

According to Missouri City PD Chief of Police Berezin, officers were called because a man was acting “erratic.” Officers said they confronted the man and he pulled out a gun and began shooting at officers. Berezin said one of the officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, hitting him.

The man was reportedly transported to the hospital by an ambulance, where he later died.

The officer that shot the man is a 15-year veteran, according to police. He was not injured, investigators said.

Police said there were numerous people inside the 7-Eleven at the time of the shooting.

At this time, the incident is under investigation.
