Police searching for suspect responsible for deadly hit-and-run in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department are asking for the public’s help finding the suspect or suspects responsible for a deadly hit and run.

On Wednesday, June 8, officers responded to reports of a crash in the 5900 block of Bellaire Blvd, around 10:47 p.m.

Investigators said the victim, identified as Antanafu Gemeda, was crossing the street when he was hit by a vehicle. Instead of stopping to render aid, investigators said the suspect fled the scene.

Gemeda suffered major injuries and died as a result of the collision.
