Body of missing Missouri City fisherman found after hours-long search

HOUSTON – Police dive teams have located the body of a man reported missing while fishing near a Missouri City canal

Icu Inez, 21, was reported missing Sunday afternoon after reports that he had gone fishing with friends in a canal off Independence Boulevard near Independence Park, authorities said.

"We're searching the Stafford canal area and we want to make sure we cover this area as comprehensively as possible to again confirm whether this alleged missing person is accurate or not," said Stacie Walker, director of communication for the Missouri City Police Department. 

The search went on for several hours until the man's body was located around 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities said the medical examiner is still working to determine Inez's cause of death.
