Teen shot while pumping gas dies at hospital, sheriff says

HOUSTON – A teenager was pronounced dead Friday morning hours after being shot while he was pumping gas at a west Harris County gas station, authorities said.

The shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Greenhouse Road and Keith Harrow Boulevard.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the 18-year-old arrived at the gas station in a white vehicle and was pumping gas when a group of people pulled up in a dark-colored pickup and began shooting at him.

The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance video and working to learn more details about the shooting in hopes they will lead to an arrest.
