Mug shot released for Richmond man wanted in connection with wife's death

RICHMOND, Texas – Authorities have released the mug shot for the Richmond man wanted in connection with the death of his wife.

Quang Do, 37, was found and arrested outside Breaux Bridge in Louisiana Wednesday morning, according to authorities. 

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office shared a tweet that said, Do was arrested by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff SWAT team and authorities were also able to recover a weapon.



Fort Bend County authorities said Do shot his wife, Jenihonganh Thuy Nguyen, to death and then left the state with their two young children Tuesday evening.

Around 5:45 p.m., officials said they got a call requesting a welfare check at a residence in the 19200 block of Mustang Pointe Lane.

The caller said they received a call from a family member saying Do had shot Nguyen, officials said.

When authorities arrived at the scene, Nguyen's body was found inside the home. Officials said they have not had any previous disturbance calls from the residence.

After shooting Nguyen, officials said Do left the state with his children, who are 1 and 3.

Both children were found safe at the residence where Do was found, according to Louisiana authorities.

Fort Bend County officials said there is no threat to the community.
