Authorities said Evans admitted to possessing the weapon after he was pulled out of class by an assistant principal.
Evans, 17, was charged with carrying a prohibited weapon in a prohibited place, which is a felony.
“The concern I have is that this occurred at a school, and there’s been enough horrible things happen at school over the last few years,” the judge said.
Evans' bond was set at $5,000.
