When deputies arrived, officials said they found one person shot dead and another wounded. The wounded suspect was taken to a hospital in The Woodlands, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators then talked to the alleged shooter, who told them that he was among four occupants living at one of the apartment units on the third floor, deputies said.

Investigators said the shooter told them the suspects were trying to rob him. Investigators are still trying to determine whether this was a case of self-defense.

The scene is under investigation and deputies are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office.
