Plane on Houston-to-Minneapolis flight slides off Wisconsin runway

HOUSTON – A flight from Houston to Minneapolis that was diverted twice Thursday because of bad slid off a runaway in Wisconsin.

United Airlines Flight 878 took off from George Bush Intercontinental Airport just after 9 p.m. Thursday, according to FlightAware.com.

A spokeswoman for United said in a written statement that the flight was originally diverted to Madison, Wisconsin, because of bad weather in Minneapolis. The flight took off from Madison, bound for Minneapolis, when bad weather forced another diversion – this time to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where the airplane left the runway.

“There were no injuries and we have arranged transport for passengers from the aircraft to the airport terminal,” the statement read. “We apologize to our customers and have provided hotel accommodations.”

According to United's website, the plane landed in Minneapolis at 2:29 a.m. Friday.
