'Frozen' Olaf inflatable decoration stolen from Channelview yard
CHANNELVIEW, Texas – Olaf was there when it snowed one week ago in Channelview in northeast Harris County, but the animated snowman from “Frozen” did not melt when the snow thawed.
Instead, he disappeared very early Sunday morning when surveillance video showed a car pull up, someone jump out and steal the blow-up character.
"I was pretty ticked off. It was very disturbing to find out that someone could actually come and do something while we were actually in my home. It felt violating,” the homeowner said.
"What's the point? It's for the holidays. It's for the kids to enjoy for the holidays. They're only up for a couple of weeks. What are you going to do with them after that? I hope you enjoy it. But I really hope you get what you deserve at the end of the day and you get caught. It's not worth it."
She said the yard decoration cost about $15.
Each day, she and her three children came outside to say “good morning” and “good night” to Olaf and to the snow queen, Princess Elsa of Arendelle.
"I had to explain that Olaf went back to Arendelle," she said.
When the homeowner looked at her surveillance video, she said she saw a dark-colored car pull up and someone jump out to unplug, deflate and steal Olaf.
She also noticed two people in the car and another partially inflated yard decoration in the backseat.
She said she alerted a deputy in the area about the theft.
