FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies are asking for the public's help in finding the person who shot and killed a single mother of two Tuesday night inside her car.
Lieu Nguyen, 39, leaves behind an 11-year-old son and a 8-month-old boy.
"Based on my background and my impression, very nice young woman, worked insurance agency just trying to raise her two children," Detective Scott Minyard, with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, said.
Minyard said Nguyen left her job around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, went the grocery store and was traveling South on Beechnut and Addicks Clodine.
"Early indicators of witness statements and some video we believe that there was some type of altercation on the roadway and an unknown subject fired at her vehicle and she was struck multiple times," Minyard said.
He said Nguyen was able to pull over near the intersection of Bissonnet and Addicks Clodine and call her 8-month-old son's father. By the time he and deputies arrived, she had already died in the driver's seat of her Toyota Camry.
The only suspect information the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office has that the suspect was in a mid-sized, dark-colored passenger car. Detectives also don't know if it was just a single suspect.
