Sheriff's Office investigates deaths at residence on Larks Aire Place

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a home in The Woodlands, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting happened Saturday at a residence on Larks Aire Place.

The Sheriff's Office identified the victims as Clarence Comer, 85, and Carmelita Comer, 62. Deputies said Carmelita Comer is Clarence Comer's daughter-in-law.

"We've got a father-in-law and a daughter-in-law," Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Cap. Bryan Carlisle said. "Our detectives are looking at that relationship to see if there's any strife. What led up to this."

Detectives do not believe there's any danger to the public.

Six adults live in the house, KPRC has learned. They were home, investigators say, when at least one of them heard a gunshot, minutes after noon.

Authorities say those in the house who heard the shots went to the backyard where they found the Clarence Comer and Carmelita Comer dead. A gun was also found in the backyard.

"One shot for each is what we're looking at right now; however, autopsy once we can get their clothing off that may tell us a different story," Carlisle said.

Deputies said MCSO's homicide and violent crimes unit is at the scene investigating.
