Evacuated Brazoria County residents to be allowed limited access to homes

City of Richwood lifts evacuation order

ANGLETON, Texas – Evacuation orders were lifted Friday for the city of Richwood in Brazoria County.

Others who were ordered to evacuate their Brazoria County homes during Hurricane Harvey were allowed limited access to their property beginning at noon Tuesday.

Officials said people who live in mandatory evacuation areas will be allowed to enter the zones from sunrise to sunset with proof of residency. They said only passenger vehicles, regular trucks and non-motorized watercraft will be allowed in the zones. They said neither high-profile vehicles nor motorized watercraft will be allowed.

Officials said the access order might be revoked as deemed necessary.

Officials have instituted a midnight to sunrise curfew for the evacuated areas.
