Lake Conroe exceeds full level; controlled releases beginning

HOUSTON – Lake Conroe's water level has exceeded its full levels and officials with the San Jacinto River Authority will begin controlled releases of water.

The late was six inches lower when the rain event started, but the water level has risen over seven inches.

The operation of the dam will buffer the amount of water entering the river, slowly passing a portion of the inflows into the lake.

Releases of water from Lake Conroe will be gradual.
