Texas EquuSearch volunteers gather to search for missing Houston man

HOUSTON – Texas EquuSearch volunteers have come together Thursday in search of a missing Houston man.

Officials said 33-year-old Thomas Jordan Cody was last seen Monday, May 5 at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Ogden in Houston.

Cody was wearing a white shirt that reads, "Jordan," silver shorts and white/gray/black Jordan shoes. He is said to have a large abdominal scar from a surgery.

EquuSearch said Cody was supposed to meet some folks near the intersection of Old Galveston Road and Park Place Boulevard late Sunday.

EquuSearch volunteers gathered on Wednesday at the Foodarama Market in the 4800 block of Old Galveston Road at Howard in Houston.

"I'm hoping it's just a blank search and we just find nothing. Hopefully he calls tomorrow or today. 'I'm here,'" Cody's friend Mike Lopez said.

Frank Black is the search coordinator and has asked for ATV and on foot volunteers.

"The police are working, very very, very hard on this and they've got multiple investigators working on this," Frank Black said.

Cody's family issued the following statement:

“Tommy Cody is missing. Tommy is very much loved by family and friends, and we are desperate to find him. If you have any information, please come forward so that Tommy can come home safely. We would like to thank Texas Equusearch and the Houston Police Department for their hard work and support. Thank you to friends and family who have reached out with love, help and prayers. Please continue to keep hope alive. Tommy, we love you so much and are praying for your safe return.”

Anyone with information on Cody's whereabouts is asked to call the Houston Police Department at 832-394-1840 or Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500
