2 sought in fatal shooting near Third Ward

HOUSTON – Police are investigating a fatal shooting they said happened Saturday in the Greater Third Ward. 

Officials said Darrell Walter, 44, was found lying in the street around 5:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Brailsfort Street and had been shot multiple times.

Walter was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died, police said. 

Witnesses told police Walter was arguing with two men before the shooting. They said that after the shooting, the men were seen taking items from Walter's pockets and then running north on Brailsfort Street.

Police described the shooter as a black man with a small build, approximately 60 to 70 years old. The second man is described as a black man with a large build and is approximately 30 to 40 years old.
