2 arrested in death of man found in bed of burning truck
HOUSTON – Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a burning truck last year.
Jason Gates, 36, and Mercedes McDonald, 27, were each charged with murder in connection with the death of Tony Iwu, 58.

Houston police said Iwu’s body was found March 6, 2016, in the bed of a burning pickup by firefighters who had arrived at the South Acres Drive location to extinguish the blaze.
McDonald was arrested in April, police said.
Gates was arrested in January in Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana. He is awaiting extradition to Houston.
