Man's body found in burned truck in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – Police are awaiting autopsy results after a man's body was found in the bed of a burned truck in southeast Houston.

Firefighters were called around 11:45 p.m. Saturday to South Acres and Cullen after a report of a fire.

When they arrived they found a pickup fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to get the fire out quickly and found a man's body badly burned laying the back of the truck.

Houston police were called to the scene and investigators are trying to determine if the fire or something else killed the man.

The man's body was so badly burned that police have not been able to identify him.

Police are contacting the owner of the truck and said it is possible that it was stolen.
