Body found beneath overpass in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Police are investigating Thursday after a woman’s body found in southwest Houston.

Officers responded to reports of a body found Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. underneath an overpass in the 1400 block of West Bellfort, according to the Houston Police Department.

The victim suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
